About us
February 2024 sees the launch of the North East Wales Skills Academy, a landmark initiative designed to empower individuals, contribute towards the revitalisation of the local economy, and create a brighter future for the region. This project, part-funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, aims to Bridging the skills gaps and boosting employability across North East Wales.
Founded in collaboration with Gatewen Training Services, Wrexham County Borough Council and several other key Wrexham based stakeholders across a range of diverse sectors, the project specifically targets adult numeracy skills, with bespoke courses mapped across HGV and FLT pathways. Upon successful completion, a select number of participants will be offered the opportunity to access FREE professional training leading to them qualifying as professional HGV or FLT Drivers.
